Human Trafficking and modern slavery numbers constitutes an epidemic of it's kind in North America.
Sexual exploitation crimes are on the rise in North America, largely in part because of the methodology used to groom and control modern slavery victims.
"She Didn't Know" is a phrase symbolizing the suffering of over 1 million victims across North America.
Victimisation of lifelong forcible enslavement for the purposes of sexual exploitation, unpaid work, and forced surrogacy for millions of victims begins in their early childhood during their formative years and carries on into the victims adulthood for the duration of their lives.
"She Didn't Know" is a simple phrase, there's no words that have been banned in it or that can be considered "inappropriate", and it highlights the truth that goes unspoken, resulting in so many victims of all races, faiths and genders being incapable of reporting the abhorrent abuses they are suffering in North America.
She's not being silent.
He's not too scared to say anything.
They don't know.
Victims not knowing what other people are doing to them is a reality that requires awareness and attention in order for those who cannot, and are being prevented from knowing the information they need to protect themselves, to be identified and protected by the communities they are living in. "She" could be your next door neighbour. "He" could sit next to your son at school. They're our kids, they're us. "She Didn't Know, because no one would tell her what they knew about her."
The first book is called She Didn't Know because the victim this book series is inspired by was referred to by those in her Canadian high school as the girl who "doesn't know", whispers of, "She Doesn't Know." followed her for over 30 years, and no one would ever tell her the truth.
No one would ever answer her questions.
Nobody cared that she didn't know.
Nobody cared enough to tell her what she needed to know.
Now she knows.
She has cast away the name given to her by her peers since she was a child herself, a name that followed her into her adulthood, and empowered herself by informing all who helped victimize her for over 30 years, that She Didn't Know then, but she knows now, and these books are helping her tell everybody, what "She Didn't Know".
If you are witnessing a crime in progress, please call 9-1-1 or your local emergency services to connect directly with law enforcement in your area.

CRIMESTOPPERS 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
It's never too late to report crimes you know about to CRIMESTOPPERS. Whether the information you have is from recent events, or you recently became informed of the seriousness and importance of the information you have about someone, please report what you know to CRIMESTOPPERS.
Please contact 9-1-1 if you are in immediate fear for your personal safety.
Please report what you know about your victimisation to your local law enforcement department or division and accept any counselling services they may be able to offer you.
It does not matter how long ago you were the victim of a sexual crime, please report your victimisation.
What if I'm scared for my life or safety? How do I go to the police when I could get hurt?
Tell the police how you feel when you get there.
Tell them you don't know why you feel that way if you don't know why and can't explain it right now.
That's okay. That's normal. People will try to tell you it's not normal, make you feel dumb. Don't talk to them, talk to the police.
"I don't know how to answer that right now, I just know this is how I feel" is a perfectly acceptable response to a question.
If you don't know, you don't know. That's okay and expected from victims of sexual exploitation.
You don't need to be able to say someone said a specific threat to you. If you know that information, share that of course, but it's okay if you don't know at the time of reporting.
It's okay if you remember more information at a later date, days, months, years later. That's okay!
It's okay if you never know. Many never will.
Ask for help.
They will help protect you.
If you're lucky enough to be someone who know's enough to know and understand you're a victim of sexual exploitation or another sex crime, you have a responsibility to yourself and every victim who is being prevented from knowing, to go report what you do know and protect yourself.
You're worth protecting.
Advocating for yourself helps those who are being prevented from advocating for themselves.
You can help protect them by helping others protect you.
